Drop in for this free creative activity where kids can design and decorate their own circle pendant, inspired by the beautiful landscape images in the exhibition. Afterwards, explore the gardens proudly wearing your new necklace!

Expressive Print Workshop
1 Day workshop at Nathan Homestead

Using Ink, plates, and paper come push your print skills by combining Monotype techniques. Bring your sense of adventure using colour and composition to create these one of a kind expressive works on paper.
Materials included but there will be extra paper to purchase on day from the tutor.
**To register for this workshop you must make contact with the tutor and be registered with full payment 7 days before the workshop date. This is to confirm attendance and there is enough students to run course. If there is not enough students the tutor will let you know and refund your payment.
But If you cancel within the 7 days before course your fee will be not be refunded.

Exploring Drawing Media
Evening Class at Te Tuhi

This 4 week course we give the student the chance to explore different types of drawing media and techniques. We will look at different artists and different subjects to work from to create interesting and expressive compositions. Most materials are included.
Please bring a pad of drawing paper A3 and a pencil ( and bring any drawing materials you already have to use).
Time: Tuesdays 6:30-8:30 pm

Ink, Markmaking and Structure

Explore the use of different ways to use ink, Sumigashi, and drawing to create content for alternative artist book structures.
In this 4 day workshop you will learn about ink, exploring its properties, including Sumigashi (known in Japan as the floating ink) and how expressive it can be as part of the mark making experience.
We will also look at content/structure in artist books and then create your own using simple themes to make book and 3D paper structures.
For this workshop you don't need any previous drawing experience.

Exploring Drawing Media through Objects
Daytime Class at Howick Historical Village

Get up close with some of the curious and interesting objects from the collections and displays at Howick Historical Village. Learn to interpret them using a variety of media and methods under the guidance of artist and printmaker Toni Mosley.
This 4-week course suitable for all skill levels. A series of different objects will be offered each week with a short introduction.
**If you can, bring drawing paper (not cartridge paper) and any pencils/ art materials you might have to class and we can discuss materials on first day. Materials will be provided but tutor encourages you to bring in materials so you can learn about what you already have.
Enrolment includes admission to explore the Village on all dates before or after the class and a 20% off cafe voucher valid on the 4 dates. Open 10am-4pm.

Collage and Drawing- A conversation between 2 mediums Workshop

Come explore Drawing with collage. This 2 hour workshop will teach you simple tricks to collage and how then to bring more of your own mark into the image.

USING IMAGE TRANSFER AS A DRAWING TECHNIQUE
1 Day workshop at Browne School of Art

In this hands-on course, you’ll learn how to incorporate transferred images as both foundations and enhancements for your artwork. Whether you're looking to layer new meaning onto existing drawings or generate fresh compositions from photographic sources, image transfer offers a versatile and dynamic approach.
You will explore a variety of transfer techniques using different media and tools — including methods that involve solvents, as well as solvent-free options. These approaches open up exciting possibilities for texture, layering, and visual storytelling.
The techniques covered in this course are best suited for paper-based work, making it ideal for artists interested in mixed media, collage, or experimental drawing.
